On Monday 12th November, Ben Maher, Olympic medal winner, was kicked in the head by a horse
He was leading it through the yard, and it slipped, and fell on him.
“The horse pulled me over and squashed my leg, and as it was scrambling to get up caught me on the top of my head with its hoof.”
Ben describes the incident as a ”freak accident”, and says he is ”fine” as the position of the kick meant he needed gluing rather than stitching.
He was treated at Harlow hospital, and says his leg is a little sore, and wearing a hat is not particularly comfortable, but he’ll be back in the saddle for Stuttgart German Masters ( 16-20 November)!
